Do periodical syncs count towards daily limit of 5

I have a number of lists and keeping them updated by syncing changes from CRM is a challenge since I am only allowed 5 syncs a day. Because of this I have done once off syncs, but get the message below every time:

You can use the Periodic Sync(Daily,Weekly,Monthly) option if you are going to use the selected custom view (or) criteria more than once. Do you want to proceed with the  " Fetch Data Once "option ?

If I set up to sync daily or weekly, will these syncs count towards my daily limit or are these additional to daily limit?
