Getting Started - Campaigns or CRM First?

Zoho has so many products and so much capability, I've gotten overwhelmed and lost.  The Campaign Help section has some good articles on how to perform certain tasks, but I could really use an overview with step-by-step instructions.  I'd appreciate your advice on how to proceed.

Here's what I want to do:  Create information request forms on my web site and then send autoresponders (date-based and action based) to subscribers.  (Some of the autoresponders will not only provide information but ask further questions to segment the subscribers so that I can send additional, focused emails via autoresponder to them.)

Here are some of my questions:

1. Can this be accomplished with only Campaigns or do I also need CRM?
2. If I need both, do I need a paid subscription to the CRM?  (I already have a paid subscription to Campaigns.)
3. Where do I start?  (After configuring the component(s) needed, do I begin with the form or a campaign?)

And if you have any other getting started advice, it would be greatly welcome.
