Help: Built in Campaigns in CRM software

Hi the help file does not open up on this page, so i am at a loss as to what to do on this page.  i have seen the separate campaigns software and have been setting this up.  But i am unsure of WHERE it will report the information.  And what this campaigns module in the crm is for exactly, is it necessary to use this?
