Hello,
Yes, This is True.
Importing Bank Statement feature is Not working as Intended. Facing few issues. Specially regarding the Mapping of Date field format. No matter how many times, we create a Case with Support team, they are NOT supporting in proper way. Infact not even trying to resolve it.
Rather than that we realized that few CS people even tried to Blame MS Excel Software. What a Fun.
Let me try to explain-
I have a Bank Statement that I have downloaded directly from Bank's official site in Excel format. The date format of which is dd-MM-yyyy
Whenever I try to import the statement in Zoho Books using the same Date format, it throws error, stating that the Date format do NOT matches.
I tried verifyhing the format by simply right clcking any Cell (that has date), and check the format, that again shows the same one, that is dd-MM-yyyy
Still it didn't worked.
Surprisingly, that same excel file (having dd-mm-yyyy), worked if I choose UnMatched Date format from within the Zoho books, that dd/mm/yyyy.
Now, this is seriously a problem or a bug. They should accept it and resolve it, without any further delay
This also shows, that Zoho Books Do NOT accepts the format dd-mm-yyy, but is just sits there for formality purposes, and will never work.
2. Another Proof-
I tried to download the Sample file from within the Banking module of Zoho books. Then I view it by confirming the Date format first (so as to use and Map the fields accordingly and correctly).
I found that this Sample file also has the Date format dd-mm-yyyy
To my utter surprise, when I try to upload that Sample Excel file (as it is), and Map the Date fields accordingly (dd-mm-yyyy), even that throws the same error of Date format not matching.
This clearly indicates there is something wrong with the Import of Statements and Unmatching of Date fields.
Selected Date format is NOT matching at all, specially for dd-mm-yyyy date format.
You are requested to check and verify this at your end, by simply downloading the Excel Sample file in CSV format having dd-mm-yyyy format and try to match and Map the fields with the same format. And then try to upload the Sample statement file (as it is).
Also, for your reference, I can share the Statement file with you (having dd-mm-yyyy) if required. You can suggest me, if there is anything wrong with our own statement excel file.
Please let me know, how to share the privately. Or shall I attach here directly
Please resolve
