New Topic feature broke my workflows

I have a website which collects leads/contacts and uses Zapier to update a ZOHO contact campaign list. That list is used to start a Zoho workflow campaign to send a few emails. Ever since the new Topic upgrade, the contacts that are added to the list, do not have a "Topic" assigned to them so they do not get the emails. 

I have found how you can assign a topic to the contact list, however, new contacts do not get the topic that was assigned to that list. The emails still go undelivered. HELP!
