I’m currently facing an issue where my Zoho Mail account has been blocked due to “suspicious login activity,” and outgoing emails are restricted.

Here are the details shown:

  • Block type: Outgoing mail blocked

  • Reason: Suspicious login activity

  • A notification also appeared indicating unusual activity with an option to unlock the account.

I would like to better understand the situation:

  1. What specific actions trigger this type of block?
    (For example: multiple login attempts, IP/location changes, SMTP misuse, etc.)

  2. What is the correct and safe way to unblock the account?
    I see the unlock option, but I want to ensure the root cause is addressed before proceeding.

  3. What preventive measures should be implemented to avoid this in the future?
    Such as:

    • Password reset policies

  4. Does this necessarily indicate a compromised account, or can it be triggered by normal usage patterns?
