Preventing auto-redirect to Parent Record on Save...

Our users often create records from the related list on th left side of the screen. They click the blue "plus" button to create the record. 

This is handy, but for some modules, or situations, they would like to remain on the record AFTER clicking "Save", instead of being redirected back to the parent record when saving.

Is it possible to prevent the parent-record redirect on-save? Either with clientscript or otherwise?
