TELL A FRIEND not working

TELL A FRIEND functionality has stopped working. HELP! URGENT! - Functionality is central to our new product launch campaign rolling out right now.
Here's what happens:
If I click on the "Tell a Friend" link at the bottom of any of my emails (or in the body of the email), I am able to navigate through to the "Tell a Friend" form. If I fill in the form and click the "Submit" button however, I get the following error.
Problem in sending forwarded mail!
An unknown error occurred. Please try after some time.
