Upcoming update to Google Drive integration in Zoho Creator

Hello everyone,

We're writing to inform you about an upcoming update to how Zoho Creator integrates with Google Drive. In Zoho Creator, during actions like importing files to create an app or attaching files to fields, you can choose files directly from cloud storage services such as Google Drive and Zoho WorkDrive. This file selection is powered by a tool known as Cloud Picker in Zoho Creator. As part of this update, the way Cloud Picker accesses Google Drive is changing.

Why are we making this change?
Google has updated its requirements for how applications access Google Drive. In line with these updates, we've enhanced our integration to meet the latest security standards. With this change, access is restricted to only the files that users explicitly choose, improving security and giving users greater control over their data.

What do I need to do? 
We've already taken care of the heavy lifting on the backend. However, a one-time re-authorization is required to continue using Google Drive within the Cloud Picker.

Next time you (or your users) try to choose a file from Google Drive in a live application, an authorization screen will appear:

Just click the Authenticate Google Drive button to re-authorize your Google account. This is a one-time process and, once done, the connection is re-established, and you will again be able to browse and pick your files from Google Drive as usual.

When will this take effect?
We're sharing this update in advance to keep you informed, and no immediate action is needed. We expect this update to be rolled out before the end of the month. After the rollout, users will be prompted to complete the updated re-authorization flow to continue using the integration.

We will post an update here when the changes have been rolled out so that you're aware of when any action is required.

We understand that this requires some manual effort from you and your users, and we sincerely appreciate your patience. Please bear with us, as this update is strictly to comply with Google's latest requirements and is designed to ensure the long-term security and stability of these integrations.
