We’ve updated the default payload format for webhooks as part of our ongoing efforts to standardize the webhook format across Zoho Finance suite of applications.

Note: This change is also applicable for the webhooks configured from the Developer Portal.
What’s changed?
The data attribute is no longer required in the payload body in webhooks.
Starting 20 July, 2025, all existing webhooks will be updated to the new format. This won't affect the webhook response sent from our end or how your application processes it.

How this will change creating webhooks
Creating New Webhooks:
Any new webhooks you create will automatically use the new payload format. However, we've added banners in the webhooks section that'll enable you to use the previous format if required.
Click Restore it in the banner, and you'll be directed to the Raw section where we've pre-filled the previous format. You can then continue creating your webhook.
Editing Existing Webhooks:
Similarly, when you edit an existing webhook, you will need to manually restore the previous format to save your changes. We’ve added banners in the webhooks section to give you the option of using the previous format.
You will need to click Restore Previous Format, and you'll be directed to the Raw section where we've pre-filled it for you.
This helps prevent any disruptions to your existing workflows, and will ensure a seamless transition.
