Zoho Assist unattended session opens in browser instead of desktop app.

Hello, I have the Zoho assist desktop app installed and when I use it to connect to an unattended session the new connection will open in a web browser tab. The session used to open up in a new window from the desktop app. 
When I start a new user support session the new session opens in the desktop app as it should. How can I set unattended sessions to open in the desktop app again?
There is an option in the general section of the app preferences where I can choose between native client or web app for the technician console and have windows native client selected.
