Hello all,
Welcome back to our series. This Thursday, we would like to showcase the creation of e-Way bills directly from your mobile device in the Indian edition of Zoho Books. In the realm of GST, e-way bills are crucial electronic documents required for the movement of goods, replacing the traditional waybill from the VAT system. To grasp the full scope of e-way bills, refer to this comprehensive guide.
There are two methods for generating e-Way bills within Zoho Books: either directly from the platform or by exporting invoice or credit note details and uploading them to the e-Way Bill portal. Today, we'll focus on the former method.
When dealing with multiple e-Way bills daily, manually inputting details into the EWB portal can be tedious. However, Zoho Books simplifies the process by pre-filling transaction details, requiring only transporter information input, if needed. Please follow the steps mentioned in this help document to kick start generating e-Way Bills.
Once you have registered Zoho Books as your GSP and validated your e-Way Bill portal credentials in the e-Way Bill module, you can start generating the e-Way Bills for transactions which have been pushed to their IRP already. This convenience is now extended to the mobile app, ensuring seamless workflow even when away from your desk.
Currently, e-Way bills can be created from the following modules: Invoices, Credit Notes, and Delivery Challans. For transactions exceeding ₹50,000, e-Way bills can be directly generated from the e-Way Bill module. Conversely, transactions below this threshold require creation from their respective transaction modules.

Here is how it works in the Android app:
Please note that these e-Way Bills will showcase different statuses as outlined here. In the Zoho Books Android app, you'll see the e-way bill status and can filter based on it. However, in the iOS app, you can currently only filter e-Way bills based on their status. We're working on unifying this experience in upcoming updates.
