Adding items via purchase orders and sales orders form - sticky search criteria, better search criteria

Please could you make the item search when adding lines to purchase and sales orders sticky?

At the moment - type search term, find product, click to add to order, followed by type search term, find product, click to add to order, and on and on.

Better if the original search could be remembered, products filtered, until a new search typed in. So search, filter products, use arrows to select product, tab to add.  Then on new line, just arrows and tab to add the next item or use mouse.
