Hello people of Zoho,
About a year ago, we switched from Mailchimp to Zoho Campaigns for reasons to do with centralising our CRM and our contacts management. As we already used Zoho e-mail as well as the fact that we were looking into using Zoho Social at the time, we thought it would've been a good idea to switch.
This migration went quite well and we have since been accumulating more and more contacts. But as time went on, we were noticing how the "open rates" dropped significantly.
Prior to switching, we were consistently getting open rates of 60-70%. (In fact our last campaign with Chimpmail had one of 70%.)
Now with Zoho Campaigns, our open rates are always under 50%. And although this difference may not be completely down to the switch, this drop is nevertheless quite big.
Furthermore, we were getting a lot of complaints of people who claimed that they weren't receiving the e-mails. In fact, some of our most loyal customers stopped opening their mails as soon as we switched.
We were also getting a lot of reports from people claiming our mails were ending up in their spamfolder. Therefore, I tried to hunt down this spam-related issue.
Now, I wouldn't be contacting you if I hadn't already done a lot of work to prevent this issue. That is to say, I already did a lot of test, configured a lot of setting and went through a lot of forumposts.
I first of all went through with the domain verification procedure in April of last year:
Next up, I checked my e-mails with a spambot checker. I duplicated a campaign and sent it to a spamcheck website:
So apart from some very minor issues, everything seems to be fine.
I did this test a couple of times, always with great results. However, a lot of our customers kept complaining.
That led me to test it out for myself. I set up a few testlist and added a couple of mailboxes to our main list. And indeed, quite a few from those mailboxes kept marking these e-mails as "spam".
The main ISP in Belgium (Telenet) has an own mailservice (one that we also use) and for those mailadresses, we always had the issue, even for several different adresses from the same ISP.
Looking at the unopened mailing contacts, we also noticed how a bunch of them had adresses ending in "telenet(dot)be".
Now I have to be honest, I have run out of ideas on how to resolve these issues. And to be honest, I am looking at moving everything away from Zoho (Campaigns) altogether and maybe just using a combination of Google Workspace, Chimpmail and Zapier, even though I think Zoho's package is great.
Therefore, I am attaching the header from the very same e-mail I sent to 3 different e-mail adresses, 2 of which have the "telenet(dot)be" domain. Those 2 went straight into the spamfolder. The other one (sent to ...@gmail(dot)com) didn't have any issues. Could you (if possible) please check these and let me know how to possibly resolve the issue we are experiencing?
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
Remi
