People have been requesting the ability to delete e-mail attachments without deleting the e-mail for more than ten years now. The latest I see is marked "Working On It" and a year ago it was supposedly being added, see here:

Is there any update on this feature? People mostly need this feature in order to free up space in their storage, but they don't want to delete the entire e-mail as the body is an important record of what's been sent and who has been sent what. The attachments themselves, though, are often duplicates or even obsolete version that do not need to be kept around.

Please let me know when we might expect to see this feature implemented.
