Auto Complete field with Year and Day

Hi, 

I am looking at the functionality of when a date field is created, a custom function that will fill in two fields with a number for Year and Month. 

e.g

Date Received 01/04/2022

it to fill in these records with this data

Month - 04
Year 2022

How would be the best way to do this please?
