Can I add Conditional Mail Merge tags on my Templates?
Hi
I was wondering if I can use Conditional Mail Merge tags inside my Email
templates/Quotes etc within the CRM?
In spanish and in our business we use gender
and academic degree salutations
, ie: Dr., Dra., Sr., Srta., so the beginning of an email / letter
should be conditional to that.
We have used Mailchimp for over a year and they do have the conditional
feature: this is an example of something we would use there:

= Dr.|* Estimado Dr.*|ELSEIF:DrDra = Dra.|* Estimada Dra.*|ELSE:|*
Hola*|END:IF|* *|IF:FNAME|* *|FNAME|* *|ELSE:|* *|END:IF|*
*|IF:LNAME|* *|LNAME|* *|ELSE:|* *|END:IF|*
So it basically says that if the person is a male Dr.
he will be addressed as
Estimado
Dr.
if she is a female Dr.
She will be addressed as
Estimada
Dra.
if we do not have a Salutation he/she will be addressed as
Hello
; and If he provided his First Name then his Name will be inserted but
if he didn´t gave one it will be empty WITHOUTH A SPACE, same goes for
its Last Name, and if for some strange reason we don´t have a First or
Last Name (it could happend with a lead at an event for example) it
will be left blank and we would use another Conditional to add their
Business Name only.
Examples: "Estimado
Dr. John Doe...", "Estimada
Dra
. Joan Doe...", "Hola
Joan Doe" / "Hola
John Doe"
I have searched through your support areas but found nothing like this,
you just mention that we can use the Mail merge tags but nothing really
elaborated about their usage. And mostly just mentioned at Zoho
Campaigns but not in ZOHO CRM
This would be extremely helpfull and will save us a lot of time, or else
merge tags would be pretty much useless in our business/language when
saving templates.
