Collaboration Issues

Hi, Currently my team is working on a doc where we all are trying to make updates to the document together. When I add sections to the document, however, I save, it says it is saving. I close and reopen the doc. My edits are now missing (they now show up in an older version of the doc. This is puzzling me and frustrating me and my team to no end. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
