Default task list | external vs. internal

Default task list | external vs. internal

From reading through the discussions here, it's my understanding that a default "external" flag cannot be set on a project level.

That being said, is it possible to change the default dropdown selection to "external" whenever someone is creating a new task? Ideally this would also cover new tasks, which are being created through the "+" button in the Kanban view.

I can't seem to figure this out myself. Even after deleting all "internal" task lists, so that my project only has one external task list remainig, the default setting upon creating a new task is still "internal". This ends up creating a new internal task list, that I didn't ask for.
