Download work document hang up MS Word on Mac

Download work document hang up MS Word on Mac

I uploaded a work document to zoho, edited it, saved it and downloaded it to my desktop.  When I try to open it in MSWord Word hangs up and I must force quit.
I am running firefox 3, Mac OS X 10.5.6, and MS Office 2004.
Not much use if people can't open the document in Word.
