Hello Zoho Creator Team,
We are writing to request a critical enhancement to the Applications Usage section to improve our ability to monitor, analyze, and manage our platform consumption over time.
While the current view of today’s usage is helpful for checking daily limits, it lacks the long-term visibility and analytical tools necessary for effective capacity planning and resource management, especially given the daily and monthly consumption limits in Creator.
We propose the following improvements to transform the Applications Usage module from a static snapshot into a dynamic analytical tool:
1. Historical Usage Data and Trends
Time Range Selection: Add the ability to view usage data across custom date ranges (e.g., yesterday, last 7 days, this month, last month, or a specific calendar selection).
Usage Timeline: Introduce a simple chart or graph to visualize usage over time for each metric (e.g., daily External Calls for the last 30 days). This would immediately highlight spikes, dips, and overall consumption trends.
2. Breakdown by Application
App-Level Filtering: Implement the ability to filter the usage data by a specific application.
Usage Attribution: Provide a breakdown of total usage by individual application. For instance, if the account has used 20,000 Custom API Calls today, we need to know exactly how many calls came from App A, App B, and so on. This is essential for resource attribution in multi-application environments.
3. Reporting and Alerts
Export Function: Add an option to export the usage history as a CSV file for advanced internal analysis and reporting.
Threshold Alerts: Allow users to configure email or Zoho Cliq alerts when usage approaches a selected threshold (e.g., 80% of the daily limit) for the overall account or for a specific application.
We believe these enhancements will provide substantial value to all Creator customers, improving monitoring and management across the platform.
Best regards,
Ram
