Hide dynamic "Saving" and "Last Edited" text from the top of documents

Hide dynamic "Saving" and "Last Edited" text from the top of documents

I really like Writer except for one thing. As I'm editing documents, it shows me this dynamic text at the top. As I type, it says "Saving..." and after I'm done typing, it says "Last edited [add number of minutes or hours or whatever ago]." It's very distracting to have that text constantly changing/updating while I'm trying to focus on my writing! Unfortunately, I don't see a way to hide this text so I don't have to see it... and be distracted by it.

Is there a way to hide it? Please PLEASE say there is.
