How do you turn a Customer contact into a Vendor contact?

How do you turn a Customer contact into a Vendor contact?

In Books, is there as way to turn a Customer contact into a Vendor contact? I don't understand how to quickly turn a customer contact (one button click, or drop down menu) into a Vendor contact. When you import a contact record from CRM they automatically come into  Books as a Customer, even if they are a Vendor in CRM. 

Doesn't it duplicate contacts to import a contact CRM as a Customer and then have to input the information all over again to make it a Vendor? 

Please help.
