How to auto-create and send a Zoho CRM mail merge document for Zoho sign signature?

How to auto-create and send a Zoho CRM mail merge document for Zoho sign signature?

For each record in one of my modules, once a field is set to a specific value, I need to be able to create a mail merge document (including subform fields) and send it for 1-2 signatures through Zoho Sign. I want to be able to have this done automatically so that our users do not need to manually trigger the merge/signature send.  Is there a way to accomplish this?  

I have already tried:
1. Creating the mail merge document template in Zoho CRM and then creating a Zoho Flow to merge and send the document when the field is set to the desired value.  However, this is resulting in just emailing a PDF of the merged document to the user (and not sending through Zoho Sign).  
2. Creating a document template directly in Writer in anticipation of being able to use the Zoho writer actions in Zoho Flow. However, it does not look like I can import subform fields from Zoho CRM using this method.  

Any other ideas???
