Invoice date questions

I've created an invoice in July, and I set the "invoice date" as August 1, and the "invoice due date" as September 1. Two questions:

1) If I send the invoice to the client now (in July), will the client also get an email on the official invoice date (August 1). Or if I send it now is the invoice date changed to today's date?

2) If I don't send any emails now, and leave the invoice in draft status, will it automatically be sent on August 1?
