live typing

I am a graduate student and many times you will have 5+ people editing a single paper and making changes before submitting it for publication. This is an awesome tool, the only thing I would change if I had access to the code would be to have a typing notification come up when someone other than you in the group is typing. Similar to MSN chat, that way when the typing document is done I can refresh to make sure I have the latest copy of the document. This could be a very powerful tool for paper editing with a large group, however at this time it seems that people that are editing at the same time could undo or overwrite each others changes without knowing they are doing so.

One last thing too, making this open source and available for download and installation on private servers (so users can have SSL, terabyte storage, etc..) would make this an amazing tool.
