Hello everyone!
We introduced the latest version of Zoho Sheet—Sheet 5—in early 2019. This new version consists of a new user interface, improved performance, and an array of useful features.
The old version of Zoho Sheet will be deprecated permanently on February 29, 2020, a year after Sheet 5 was introduced. After February 29, 2020, all users of the old version will be moved to the new version, and you will no longer be able to switch back to the old version.
Update: All users will be moved to the new version of Zoho Sheet permanently from March 2,2020.
Here are some exciting features the new version of Sheet offers:
- An AI-powered analytical assistant, Zia, that helps you with automated recommendations, insights, and answers for all your data-related questions. Learn more
- A smart data cleaning tool that gets rid of duplicate entries, data inconsistencies, and missing values in your spreadsheet. Learn more
- Custom functions powered by Deluge that allow you to bring in contextual data from other Zoho and third-party applications. Learn more
- In-cell graphs called Sparklines, with which you can study the data trend alongside your actual data.
- Three new chart types—Histogram, Pareto, and Wordcloud—and chart series aggregation.
- Grid spacing and zooming options to provide the most comfort while working on your spreadsheets.
- Options to hide rows, columns, and sheets.
- Advanced border options with line style and color customization.
- Multirange selection using the Cmd or Ctrl key.
- User-level filters and named filters for better collaboration while filtering data. Learn more
We are constantly improving Zoho Sheet for better user experience and reliability. As part of this process, we've improved application rendering, which makes your spreadsheets load much faster.
A couple of other features were excluded from Sheet 5 when it was released in early 2019, but they're now available:
- Text overflow, now based on the alignment chosen.
- Right-to-left support in the interface for Arabic, Urdu, and Hebrew users.
Sheet 5 combines the complete feature array of the old version with a better experience.
We encourage you to start trying out the new version, if you haven't yet. To move to the new version, you can use the "Switch to New Version" option on the top-right corner of your spreadsheet editor. If you have any feedback or questions, feel free to comment them below.
