Permissions panel: gratuitously confusing, and too-easily destructive

1. Ultimate confusion : The "Checked" state is a green check mark. The "unchecked" state is an orange-brown check mark.

Ie: unchecked is represented by a check mark !  (And these are probably indistinguishable by someone with red-green colorblindness.).

2. The interaction of the checkboxes and the Save button is inconsistent and dangerous .
  • Checking or unchecking a checkbox in a user row generally does not take effect immediately, but requires pressing the Save button to take effect -- good.

  • Unchecking a user's View checkbox deletes that user! Although a confirmation dialog appears, the action doesn't just affect this view of the table (to be confirmed with a later Save click), instead it takes effect immediately!  This despite the Save button, which, in all other edits to this view, is required for the changes to take effect.
    • The problem is even far more egregious in the case of the View button in the header row: The effect here is to delete ALL users, again without the Save button.
I strongly suggest changing the "unchecked" symbol to something clearer (like blank or 'X'), and revising the View permissions behavior so it's not possible to accidentally delete one or all users with no recourse. Of course it should be possible to delete users, but that should be a separate action, not a side effect of changing the View permission without waiting for the Save button.
