Show the bigger picture in small spaces: Add images in cells with Zoho Sheet
When used correctly, images and infographics can add so much value to a spreadsheet. Zoho Sheet previously had an option to insert images into your spreadsheets, but now we're taking it a little further: You can now insert images into a particular cell!
Inserting an image into a cell
The perks of being able to do this are endless. First, you can contextually insert images on specific cells, instead of having just a bunch of images stacked over the cells on your spreadsheet. This means the image goes anywhere the cell goes. Whether a row is inserted above or a column before, or if your cells are shifted, the image moves dynamically as well. Simply put, an image in a cell is part of the data! To make it more customizable, images inserted in a cell have their own set of options that come in handy while viewing or working with these images.
Preview, pull, or put it over the cells
With a right-click, cells with images inserted display a few extra options that make it easier to work with or view these images.
You will be able to adjust how the image is displayed in the cell, and you can choose if you want the image to fit into the cell, such as stretched over or covering the cell.
Want a closer look at the inserted images? Simply select "preview" from the right-click menu.
In addition to these options exclusive to images in cells, you can pull an existing image in a cell over the cells or put an image currently placed over cells into a cell if needed, with ease.
How do I insert an image in a cell?
Select the cell you want to insert the image in. Click the Insert menu, look for an option to insert images, and from the drop down, choose the insert image "in cell" option. Zoho Sheet provides you with options to insert images from your computer, your Zoho library, other cloud drives, or even URLs.
You can also use Zoho Sheet's new =IMAGE() function to insert images into your cells. The images you insert using the function are a little more dynamic, and it simply requires you to furnish a URL for the image you want to insert. Whether inserted via a function or through the menu, these images can be a vital new addition to your spreadsheets, letting you paint a clearer picture.
