Store WorkDrive Recordings Locally Until Upload Completes

Hope you are doing well.

We would like to submit a feature request regarding the video recording functionality in Zoho WorkDrive.

Currently, when a user records a video through WorkDrive and the upload process fails or gets stuck, the recording may become permanently inaccessible. Based on the information provided by your support team, recordings are not stored locally in a way that allows users to recover or manually upload them later.

This creates a major risk of data loss, especially for long recordings or users with unstable internet connectivity.


Requested Feature:
Please store recordings locally on the user’s device until the upload process completes successfully.

This would allow users to:

  1. Recover recordings if the upload fails
  2. Retry uploads manually at a later stage
  3. Avoid permanent loss of important recordings

Why This Is Important:

At the moment:

  1. Upload failures can cause complete loss of recordings
  2. Users have no recovery mechanism
  3. Troubleshooting becomes impossible after the upload session disappears
  4. Temporary network issues can lead to permanent data loss

This behavior is especially problematic for businesses recording meetings, tutorials, support sessions, or important internal content.

We believe this enhancement would significantly improve reliability and user trust in the recording feature.

Please consider this as a feature request for future implementation.
