Tip #35: 5 Custom Views that can benefit you everyday

Custom views might seem like a fairly simple feature but the solutions it offers are extensive. Custom views are used to group and display only relevant cards in an orchestration so that the cards requiring utmost attention are always in your view.

Usually, when an orchestration shortcut is clicked from the top band, all cards in the orchestration are displayed. However, you can add more customization and choose to view only the cards you want using custom views.

View only open cards

We often get customer queries asking how only open cards of an orchestration can be viewed instead of all cards. If you’ve had a similar question, here’s the solution.

Create a custom view with criteria- ‘Stage’ ’Not in’ ‘Last stage of your blueprint’. Similarly, you can create custom views to view cards in specific stages too.

View cards with approaching due dates

Cards with nearing due dates need prioritized attention. To view just these cards in an orchestration use the custom view below.

Alternatively you can also list the cards in increasing or decreasing order of due dates by clicking the arrows next to 'Due on' field to sort them.

View cards of your direct reports

Monitoring the work of your direct reports is made simple with Qntrl. If you wish to view all the tasks that a particular resource is working on, use the criteria ‘Assignee’ ‘In’ ‘User name’.

You can also manage your resources' progress more closely and view what exactly they worked on ‘yesterday’, ‘today’, or any ‘custom date’ using ‘Updated on’ filter.

View cards of your team

Being informed of the tasks your team is working on is essential to understand every individual’s workload, especially when we are working remotely. To understand this, create custom views with criteria- ‘Team’ ‘Is’ ‘Your team name’.

Create views with custom fields

Apart from the default fields (like stage, due date, assignee, team) used above, you can also use custom fields to create custom views. For example, in a reimbursement process, you can choose to view the cards with reimbursement amount higher than $10,000 alone using custom views.

Any number of custom views can be created for each orchestration and you can also share the views with other users using the 'Visibility' option. Apart from custom views, default views and filters can also help you organize cards in Qntrl. You can also save filters as custom views.
