Tips and Tricks #36: Create, edit, and animate slides in offline mode using the Show Android app

Hi everyone!

We're back with another tips and tricks post for you all. In case you missed our previous post in the Tips and Tricks series, you can find them here

There may be times when you want to create a presentation while traveling or working remotely. In order to meet the changing needs of today's internet age, we at Zoho Show have come up with the offline feature in our mobile app.

Using your Show app, you can create and edit presentations even in places with no internet connection, like when you're on a flight or in the subway.

Enable the Make a presentation available offline option in the Show app to work on a slide deck you created when you were online.

In the offline mode, you can import a PPTX file or create a new slide deck using your smartphone.

Note: Currently, the Make a presentation available offline option is accessible in the Show Android app and the import PPTX files in offline mode feature is functional in Show iOS app only.

Once your open a presentation opens in your Show app, you can add new slides and objects to it from your mobile device. You can further apply styles, format slide elements, and add animations.

Note: The data in your presentation will sync with the Zoho server once you return online.

You can also preview or run a slide show of the offline presentation from your smartphone. For example, you can use this option to present your slide deck while riding in an elevator.

Additionally, the Show app lets you download presentations in PDF and JPEG formats. This is useful especially when you want to print your slide deck or just save a particular slide in it.

You can also create a copy of your offline presentation for later. For example, you can use this option to create two copies of the same presentation to edit them for a different audiences.

Using the offline mode, you can:
  • Work without any data expenses or roaming charges while traveling.
  • Instantly load your presentation on your mobile device since there will be no network traffic.
  • Save your phone's battery since the data is organized and managed well in the device's memory.
  • Get better user experience and seamless functioning of the app, leading to improved productivity and efficient time management.

Check out the offline option in the Show app for yourself and let us know what you think in the comment section below.
