very slow text entry in to Show on FF3.03 in Ubuntu 8.04

Hi

I am trying to use Zoho Show to create presentations from scratch online. I am using Firefox 3.03 in Ubuntu Hardy Heron (with Open JDK java running as 1.60 on the icedtea plugin in Firefox). This setup works fine for text entry in to google docs presentation, but on Show each letter takes about 1 second to register on the slide, and the cursor also blinks very slowly too. My system is dual boot to Vista and show runs fine in Firefox 3.03 there.

I'd much rather use Show over Google Pres, and Ubuntu over Vista!

Any ideas what the problem might be - whether its zoho side (as I suspect) or a linux thing?
