What customizations can a Workspace inherit?
I'm having some difficulty understanding what customizations a workspace can inherit from a wiki. Here's what I found from testing:
Settings > Themes:
- Choice of base theme: Workspace inherits wiki theme if set to "Use wiki theme as workspace theme". The rest of the items assume that setting. (Does this fact affect the Settings > Customization settings?)
Settings > Customization (top of page to bottom)
- Bottom panel enable/disable: I couldn't find any combination of this radio button setting (with or without editing the bottom panel) which would allow the wiki bottom panel content to appear in a workspace page.
- Side panel left/right/none: Initially the workspace panel position follows changes of setting of the wiki, but if the Save button on the workspace settings page is pressed (for any reason), then the workspace is stuck with the workspace setting for left/right. There seems no way to regain "use wiki setting" for this variable.
- Top panel edit variations: Initially start as Logo + Title.
- Side panel choice and position of widgets: Workspace never seems to follow the wiki settings.
- Bottom panel content: On the workspace, the edit button warns that normally the bottom panel displays the wiki's bottom panel content. But as noted above, the workspace bottom panel never seems to display the wiki bottom panel contents.
- Custom CSS file: Workspace uses the wiki's custom CSS file, unless a CSS file is set for the workspace.
- Favicon: Workspace uses wiki's favicon, unless a specific favicon is set for the workspace.
The red items are the ones that behave unexpectedly.
The item I especially care about at the moment is: Some way to have the workspace side-panel adopt the same side, and the same set and order of widgets as the wiki.
I might in future want to set a bottom panel , so any advice on that would be good too.
Thanks!
