What is New in CRM Functions?

Hello everyone!

We're delighted to share that Functions in Zoho CRM have had a few upgrades that would happen in phases.

Phase 1
An all new built-in editor for better user experience and ease of use.
ETA: In a couple of days.

Phase 2
Support to write the function code in Java, Python, and NodeJS.
ETA: Rolled out in a phased manner.

Updated Built-in Script Editor
The built-in script editor has now undergone a major upgrade.
Here are the old and new screenshots of the editor.

Old Deluge Editor

New Deluge Editor

  • The editor opens in full screen that provides better readability.

  • There is a dedicated console to view the output as well as read the errors, if any.

Multi-language Support
Do you want to write your functions in a language other than Deluge?
Zoho CRM will support functions written in Java, Python, and NodeJS.

You can choose to code your logic in the all new built-in editor or upload a zip file containing the code written in any programming language editor (Eclipse, for example).

Here is a sneak-peek at the new My Functions tab under Setup > Developer Space > Functions

As you can observe, there is a new drop-down to select the programming language you want to write your code in.

Below are screenshots of the Function editor for each programming language.

Java

Python

NodeJS
