What's New in Zoho Inventory - February 2020

It's the first post of the new decade and we are excited to share the recent updates that were added to Zoho Inventory in the past month.

View the price lists associated with an item

When an item is associated with several price lists, it becomes difficult to identify the item's rate in each list. For that purpose, we have added a section in the item details page where you can view the different custom rates applied to an item in each list and edit them then and there.

Note: Markup/Markdown price lists will not be included.

Add payment terms to your sales and purchase orders

We have provided an option to specify the payment terms on sales and purchase orders which makes it easy for the customers to know when they are expected to make the complete payment. Vendors can also know when they will get paid for the purchases made by your organization. This field's value will be carried forward to the invoice/bill when it is created from the corresponding sales/purchase order.

Add a subject to your invoices and credit notes

We have added a Subject field in invoices and credit notes. Here, you can provide a brief description of the transaction which will help the customer understand its purpose upon viewing it. This field can hold up to 250 characters and will be displayed above the Item Details table.

To enable the Subject field, go to Settings > Preferences > Invoices/Credit Notes > Field Customization > Subject > Change status to Active. For newly created organizations, this field will be active by default.

Under Templates, this field will be enabled by default. However, it will be displayed only when this field holds some value. Except for the "Thermal" template, this field is supported in all other templates.

View item details from the contextual sidebar

While viewing any transaction in Zoho Inventory, you can now click on an item name to get more insight into its details that include sales information, purchase information, stock level, and stock locations within the same page.

Updates to Zoho Inventory iOS app (Version 2.3.8)

The following updates have been added to the iOS app:

- Added the Payments Received and Payments Made module to view existing payments and to record new payments.
- The expiration date of a batch can now be viewed while adding batch tracked items to a transaction.
- Added the 'Inventory Start Date' field under Settings.
- Added the 'Share Invoice Link' option to copy and share the invoice URL through any messaging applications instantly.
- Added the Payments list page to view the payments collected for paid invoices.

Crash fix:

- Fixed a crash in the Item Details screen of the iPad when the user tries to switch to another module before the response from API is received.
- Fixed a crash in the sales and purchase transaction detail screen when there is any custom field with 'Show on PDF' option enabled.
