Leverage the Power of Zoho FSM Record Templates to Simplify Work Order Creation

What to Know About Record Templates

Use Record Templates to easily create work orders using previously recorded values. Thus, they help you quickly and accurately capture data in a work order record, reducing the repetitive manual effort.

The following examples will illustrate the use of record templates:
  • Consider that you provide three types of car servicing packages: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. You can create templates for each of the three car servicing packages that contain specific details such as services, duration, and parts included in each package. This way, when you need to create a work order, you can easily use one of these templates to quickly fill in all the required information.

  • You might want to implement seasonal promotions in order to enhance your business. For example, as a pool cleaning company, you may offer deals such as debris removal with scrubbing, vacuuming with pH balance restoration, and more.  You can create record templates for each of these promotional packages.

How to Create a New Record Template

A record template can be created with all the details vital for a work order:
  • Essential service details: Include all the critical elements such as services, parts, service tasks, and skills required for a work order.
  • Date fields: You can set the values for the date fields. When you use a record template for creating the work order, then the values, if any, provided in the date fields will be used w.r.t the current date to prefill the Create Work Order form.
  • Custom fields: Set values for the custom fields, tailoring the templates to meet your unique business needs.
