Zoho vs Google Apps

Zoho vs Google Apps

Hi guys at Zoho,

We've been testing Zoho for the past weeks in a trial to migrate from Google Apps.
The main motivations to move from Google Apps were concerns over google's privacy policy and presence of distracting advertisement. At first sight Zoho seems to be a great alternative to Google, and even better than Google due to its worldclass CRM solution as well as Zoho's bunch of other very useful apps for our business.

Over the past weeks, we've been however very surprised to discover that very basic needs are not covered by Zoho. The main killer to us is that there is no integration (nor sync possible) between Zoho CRM contacts, calendar and Zoho Contacts and Calendars. Basically if you intend to use Zoho Mail/Contacts/Calendar along with Zoho CRM, you need to copy all items from one app to the other. The absence of CalDav feature (available in Google Apps) is also an issue for those business sharing project calendars with clients and other people outside our organisation (i.e. family members).

The most surprising thing to us is that you guys at Zoho released a Sync feature for Zoho CRM and Google Apps users that does exactly what is missing for Zoho itself. The rational of Zoho supporting more Google Apps users than its own Zoho users is quite confusing.

It seems to us that Google Apps works seamlessly and remains unfortunately currently the best option for being performant in our business. For the reasons mentioned above, we would be very glad to migrate to Zoho once your apps works seamlessly. Please let us know once those improvements will be made. Once this happen, I believe there will be less features requests from your clients to sync with Google Apps and more clients actually moving from Google Apps to Zoho.

Best regards
MG
