Adding hyperlink to images already on the web doesn't work
This looks like a bug for sure. REPRO: Click the "Insert/Modify Image" button on the toolbar. Paste in an URL of an image already on the web, e.g. http://www-ucdmag.ucdavis.edu/su02/graphics/watermelon.jpg Click OK. OBSERVED: Image is broken. EXPECTED: Image should display properly. The only way I've found around this is to drag, copy-and-paste an image from the source page itself into Zoho Writer. This happens in Firefox 1.5.0.2.
Special characters on HTML export and Quotation Marks

My use of Zoho Writer
I have been working on a novel and some short stories. I've been looking for a way to work on them anywhere I go. I found Writely, but am still waiting for them to open registration. Then I found Zoho and have been using it a few days now. Overall I like Zoho. I have found a number of bugs, but that's to be expected with a Beta product.
Problems with bookmarklet
I've been having problems with the bookmarklet feature. When I drag it onto a page, I get a popup asking me to log in. Once I log in, it acts like it is uploading the file to Zoho, but all I get is a blank document. I've tried this with several webpages with no luck.
Need a way to close all documents
Hi, when I log into Zohowriter, it shows me the last document I had open. I can open other documents into the tabbed interface, and can close all of them but one. Is there no way to close the last document?
Headers and Footers
I will be looking to use this programme for standard operating procedures ,consequently a header and footer section is very important to me. This allows me to indicate who prepared the procedure, the issue and revision dates, Subject , etc. I saw the programme for the first time today so maybe this features is present and I missed it. I love what I have seen so far
Only creator of a doc can publish?
Hi, zoho's great but it's a real disappointment that a document created by me cannot be published to a blog by someone I have given read/write access to. Is there any plan to change this, or a workaround?

Footnotes please
Congrats on zoho-writer, it is a fantastic tool. Maybe I'm an idiot and just can't see it, but it doesn't seem like there is a footnote feature in zoho. As a student, this is a bit of a deal-breaker for me. It would be pretty simple to add a basic footnote function, similar to the one in MSWord. But it would be great to see something a bit more advanced for those of us who spend more time writing footnotes than text. For instance, a seperate pane with fields to enter author, title, year, page, and

Is there a way to get the tool bar off the top and bottom the paper when printing it? Also is it already double spaced or how do you do that?
Thesaurus
I think a thesaurus would be a nice addition to Zoho. You could right-click on any word and it would load a list of synonyms.
problem with accents?
In one shared document some people's texts appear scrambled when they use accents (Portuguese) and others aren't. Can anyone help me understand why that would be? Cheers, Beverly
Changing cells in tables
I've been using your table function, but I'm trying to create a table that I can type text into, without the table borders moving. Everytime I start typing, the borders start shifting to the right. Is there a simple way to create a table and set all the cells so that they're a fixed size horizontally, while having them expand vertically to accommodate more lines of typing.
browser crash
I created one document, now everytime I go to zohowriter website my browser crash. seems like bug to me.
OpenDocument Format?
The only thing holding me back from using this all the way is lack of support for the open document format... In particular, the .odt extension. This is a excellent product though! I can't believe how fast it is, and still very capable of fulfilling most if not all my word processor needs!!!
My thoughts on ZohoWriter
I really like it for blogging. Only thing I can't figure out is how to set the time of my posts! They all show up as having been posted early in the morning. Not a huge thing, but is there a fix? OTOH, I LOVE the interface. Easy, quick and very intuitive. Thanks! :)

What does "shrink to fit" do?
When using "Image Import" there is a checkbox "Shrink to fit". Since the image I have (a JPEG picture from a digital camera) is very large, I was hoping that this checkbox would cause a reduction in the size of the image. But it doesn't What does it do? Also, what is the effect of entering values in the "Horizontal" and "vertical" spacing boxes. Is there any documentation or tuition material available to cover items like this? Font Select
I have found this: Select some text. Text is selected. Click on fontface combo to select different font. Selected text is deselected. This on IE6 SP1.

list of documents view
I think it would be nice for heavy users if there were alternative view(s) of one's documents. It is sometimes hard to read the titles, dates last modified, dates created, and other info to find the exact document I would like to view/work on. If one could use other clues, this task could be made easier. The ones I can imagine are - different icons to different types of documents spatial grouping of documents on a virtual deskspace, as opposed to a list coloring, marking, or otherwise manipulating
Tabbing
I wonder how difficult it is to intercept the Tab key within Zoho. I tried using it and it had its default functionality of setting focus to a different control in the document. But wouldn't it be possible to capture that key press and have an indent occur? The indent feature seems to work fairly decently so the functionality is built right in if it can be called. David
Problems importing txt documents
Hello, Yesterday I was trying to import with Firefox 1.5 some txt file (size <1 KB) but Writer seems to be hung. No problem with Word or OpenOffice files. Regards
comments on versions
Hi. I've used Zoho Writer for about two weeks now, and I am very happy about it. Thank you very much. One feature that I think could be interesting is commenting on versions. Right now, versions are .1 incremental number that increases everytime I save the document. If I can attach comments on the characteristic of the version it might be helpful in remembering which version has what. The natural place to see comments is "history" view.
Versioning
I'm curious to know if there is any auto-recover function built into Zoho writer. While my web-browser is much more stable than MS Word, it does crash sometimes, and I'd hate to lose data. Is there any kind of auto-save or continuous versioning function within Zoho? If not, would it be possible to make one?
missing images
hi all, if you see in public documents "canti di natale", you can see two missing images on top of document. but if i open the document for a modify, i see the images. if i send it by mail as an html page, i see the images. if i export the document in pdf format, the images are missing. have you any ideas? thanks marco cavallini
