Add Real-Time Microphone Audio-Level Indicator During Screen Recording
Hi Zoho WorkDrive Team,
Hope you are doing well.
We would like to request an important enhancement to the Zoho WorkDrive screen-recording experience.
Current Limitation:
During a recording session, there is no visual indication that the microphone is working.
Users have no way to confirm:
- Whether their microphone is active
- Whether audio is being captured
- Whether the input volume is too low, too high, or muted
- Whether the selected microphone is functioning properly
This often results in recordings that appear successful - only to discover afterward that the audio was muted or not captured at all, requiring the user to redo the entire recording.
Feature Request:
Please add a real-time microphone audio-level indicator (similar to Zoom, Google Meet, Loom, etc.) to either: the Camera Overlay ir the Recording Controls.
This indicator should show a moving audio bar (green/yellow/red) that reacts to the user’s voice in real time.
Why this is extremely important
- Prevents silent or unusable recordings
- Gives immediate feedback that the microphone is functioning
- Helps users identify incorrect microphone selection
- Ensures audio volume levels are appropriate
- Saves significant time by avoiding re-recording sessions
- Creates a more professional and reliable recording workflow
A simple live audio meter would dramatically improve confidence and prevent common audio issues.
Thank you very much for considering this improvement.
Warm regards,
Ram
