In the previous Zoho CRM release, converting a lead created an account and a contact, but the next page you saw was the edit account page, and the contact was created in the background. I don't use contacts that were created from leads (various reasons), but it was not that annoying since the contact was created in the background, and clicking "Convert" took me to the edit the account page.
In the new release, the account is created in the background and "Convert" takes you to edit the contact screen. So what I have to do is delete the newly formed contact, then use the search box to find the newly created account, then edit the account.
The best outcome for me would be enable the conversion of leads to accounts without a corresponding contact being created. Barring that, the old method of having the account be edited rather than the contact be edited upon conversion would be great.
Am I the only one that doesn't care about contacts when a lead is generated? Our customer contact info is all stored in the account itself, and I just use contacts for people I actually need to call on a regular basis. Our contacts sync to my phone's contacts, and we have thousands of customers, so if I stored all customer contact info in the contact module, my phone's contact list would be unusable.
Thanks,
Carlo
