Enhanced data export features: XLSX format, custom character encoding, and selective record export

Greetings all,

Here are a few enhancements related to exporting CRM data, including the ability to export data in XLSX file format now. The Export feature under Data Administration now offers new options that expand its flexibility and enable users to export module data in a customized manner.
Let's look at these enhancements in detail.

Choose your file type

You can now export module data in the XLSX file format, in addition to the default CSV format option. The XLSX format enables users to export up to 50,000 records at once, while the CSV format enables them to export up to 200,000 records at once.
Accordingly, you can now choose which file type you want to export your data into.

Choose your charset

If you export your data in CSV format, you can choose the character set used to encode your CSV file, which helps retain international characters.

Exclude Record ID

Previously, by default, the Record ID column was included in the exported file. You can now exclude that column from your export file by unchecking the field Record ID from the list of fields that appear when you select Choose Fields.
If you choose 'All Fields' under Exclude Fields, you may select Record ID and thus eliminate the field from the export file.

Export directly from a module

Previously, exporting data directly from a module under the Actions menu was the same as going to Setup → Data Administration → Export. Both navigational routes would land you on the same Export Data page, where you'd choose your export options.

After this enhancement, when you go to [Module] → Actions → Export, you can choose the file format and other options directly on the same module page in a pop-up window for exporting.

Export selected records from a module

You can now select specific records to be exported from the list view of any module—directly from the module page. You can choose up to 500 records and click Actions → Export selected records.
