Weekly Tips : Automatically clean clutter with Junk cleanup interval

If you regularly receive many unwanted or spam emails, your Spam folder can quickly fill up and start taking up valuable storage space in your Zoho Mail account. Instead of manually clearing it every few days, you might find it helpful to enable automatic timely junk cleanup.

Zoho Mail allows you to set up Junk Cleanup interval. This will automatically delete emails in your Spam folder after a specific number of days (for example, every 15 or 30 days). This ensures your mailbox stays clean and that old junk emails don’t pile up and consume your storage quota.

Junk Cleanup Interval

The emails in Trash and Spam folders are retained for a fixed period of time after which they are permanently deleted. By default, the emails that are older than (received before) 30 days in the Trash folder will be automatically cleared periodically. You can configure this value according to your convenience.

Set Junk Cleanup Interval

  1. Login to Zoho Mail.
  2. Navigate to Settings.
  3. Open the System settings card.
  4. Scroll down or Navigate to the Junk Cleanup Interval section.
  5. Enter the desired value from minimum 5 to maximum 180 days in the Spam and Trash folders will be cleaned up based on the interval specified here option.
Tip: You can set up filters to move emails to the trash automatically or delete them after n days, based on specific criteria.
