Sales Tax Automation [US & Canada Edition]
Sales tax is a consumption tax collected from customers at the point of sale and remitted to federal, provincial, state, or local tax authorities, depending on your country. In countries like the U.S. and Canada, tax rates and rules can vary based on the region, the type of goods or services sold, your business location, your customer’s location, tax registrations, and any applicable customer exemptions.
Managing sales tax can be complex because different regions may have different tax rates, tax structures, and exemption rules. To simplify this, you can use
Sales Tax Automation, which automatically determines and applies the correct tax to your transactions.
Configure Multiple Businesses for MTD Income Tax Filing [UK Edition]
We have introduced Multi-business configuration for
MTD Income Tax filing in Zoho Books. With MTD Income Tax, filings are linked to an individual’s National Insurance Number (NINO), which means all business activities must be reported together.
Previously, users had to manage separate organizations to file returns with HMRC, making the process more complex and harder to track. To simplify this experience, Zoho Books now supports configuring multiple businesses within a single organization when the business type is selected as Sole Trader.
Enhancements to Corporation Tax and Final Accounts [UK Edition]
We’ve introduced key enhancements to simplify the Corporation Tax and Final Accounts experience in Zoho Books. These include support for
Capital Allowances within the Corporation Tax computation flow, intelligent account mapping to FRS 105 sections in Final Accounts to reduce manual effort, and support for
Corporation Tax Amendments to help users regenerate and resubmit updated returns to HMRC with ease.
Scan Receipts for Free
Receipt Scans are now available for free in Zoho Books, making it easier to capture, scan, and manage expense receipts at no additional cost. Please visit the
pricing page to learn how many scans are supported in your plan.
Introducing AI Custom Field Data Types
We have introduced AI-powered custom field data types. The newly added AI field types include Image to Text, Keyword Extraction, and Sentiment Analysis. Image to Text fields can extract handwritten or printed text from images, generate image descriptions, and identify objects within uploaded images. Keyword Extraction fields automatically identify relevant keywords from text inputs to help categorize and organize records, while Sentiment Analysis fields evaluate text and generate sentiment outputs such as Positive, Negative, or Neutral for quick insight into customer feedback or reviews.
Note: This feature is available in the premium and above plans of Zoho Books.To Enable and Create AI Custom Fields, navigate to Settings > Organization > AI Preferences > Enable the required AI features. Once done, create an custom field with an AI datatype.
Customize Accessibility Preferences
We have introduced Accessibility Preferences in Zoho Books. You can now adjust text spacing, underline links for better visibility, add strikethrough to disabled buttons, and quickly access keyboard shortcuts for easier navigation. These preferences help improve readability, accessibility, and overall usability across the application.
To configure accessibility preferences in your organization, click your profile in the top-right corner of your Zoho Books organization, then click Accessibility Preferences > Set Up Your Preferences.
Configure User-Level Account Segmentation in Banking
We have introduced User-Level Account Segmentation in Banking. Admins can now
assign specific bank accounts to individual users based on their roles, ensuring users can access and manage only the bank accounts explicitly allocated to them. This enhancement includes segmented access control at the role level and user assignment while creating or editing bank accounts, helping organizations manage banking operations more securely and efficiently.
Retain Vendor Advance While Deleting Bill Payments
We have introduced the Dissociate and Add as Credit option while deleting bill payments linked with vendor advances. This allows users to retain the dissociated payment amount as a Vendor Advance instead of losing it during deletion. The retained credit can later be applied to future transactions for the same vendor, eliminating the need to manually recreate advance payments.

Filter Items by Warehouse in Purchase Receives
We have introduced a warehouse filter in the Purchase Receive creation page to help users easily filter and receive items based on the warehouse associated with each line item in a Purchase Order.
Other Enhancements
- Advanced Filters in Reports now support the Include Child Options setting for reporting tags, allowing all associated child options to be automatically included in the report filter.
- We have introduced the option to filter challans by payment date range, allowing you to export only the challans that fall within the selected challan payment date range.
- We have added support for importing TDS-related columns in the Applied Excess Vendor Payment import. [Global, India & Australia Edition]
- We have added support for supply date and service period handling in Credit Notes. With this enhancement, users can now configure and manage Supply Date, Service Start Date, Service End Date, and Transaction Posting Date as custom fields in Credit Notes. [Germany Edition]
- Custom Modules are now available on the Zoho Books Android app.
- We have introduced support for displaying organization details in report export files. Using the Configure Report Layout option, you can now customize organization details for both standard and custom reports, and also modify these details during report export.
