Associate ORG modules using Connected Records

Associate ORG modules using Connected Records

Hello Everyone,

We are here with a set of new enhancements to Connected Records in Zoho CRM For Everyone. We've made module connections clearer, easier to manage, and less confusing.

What's New?

  1. Associate Org modules as Connected Records.
  2. Clear separation of modules associated through Connected Records for quick access and identification.
  3. View and manage configurations for all associated modules from a single page.
  4. Use the 'Connected To' field to configure triggers specific to associated modules in Connected Workflows.
Explore the details below.

Associate Org Modules using Connected Records

Earlier, connected records supported only Team modules and Custom modules.

Now, you can also associate Org modules as well through Connected Records from the Module Layout page.

To configure this, navigate to the Module Layout page and edit the properties of the 'Connected To' field. From there, you can choose which Org modules can be associated through Connected Records.

Say, the sales team wants to associate Deals with Invoices and Accounts, which are Org modules. With this enhancement, they can directly associate these modules from the Deals Module Layout page and view connected records without switching screens.

Clear separation of modules associated through Connected Records

Modules associated through connected records are now grouped into two sections:
  1. Configured Modules
Lists your organization modules and team modules that are associated through connected records.
  2. Other Modules
Lists all custom modules and team modules that are NOT associated through connected records.
By default, only custom modules and team modules will be listed in the drop-down, if you want to associate org modules from here, you need to enable them from the module layout page as mentioned above.

This separation helps you quickly identify which modules are associated and which are not and also to quickly associate records in various modules from here depending on your use case.

View and manage configurations  for all associated modules from a single page

A new View Configurations option is now be available in Connected Workflows tab.

This page gives you a summary of all the modules associated with a selected module through connected records. From here, you can:
  1. View list of modules associated
  2. Edit existing configurations to add or remove modules by navigating directly to the module layout page to update configurations.

For example, if you want to add Leads as a connected record in other modules, you can open the Lead module configuration and select the modules where Leads should appear as a connected record. By default, Leads is selected, and you can modify this as needed.

Use the 'Connected To' field to configure triggers specific to associated modules in Connected workflows

Earlier, Connected Workflows could not trigger actions based on specific associated modules.

Now, a new Connected To field lets you configure workflow triggers based on the associated modules connected through the 'Connected To' field.  This means, you can use the Connected To field in Connected Workflows triggers to define criteria based on the associated module from which the record is created.

For example, consider a feedback received as a record created from the Product Demo module. Earlier, it was not possible to immediately notify the pre sales team about this feedback through Connected Workflows.

In this case, you can configure a trigger using the Connected To field where the feedback records created is connected to the Product Demo module. The workflow can then automatically send an email notification to the pre sales team, informing them that new feedback has been received.
