Bulk emails

I am required to send a bulk email out to all the people in our database but I have found that clicking on the "select actions" only selects the candidates on that screen and therefore only emails those candidates. How do I select all 600+ candidates so I can email them all in one go and how would this work with the 250 email limit which I have just encountered?
