Clarification on “Prefill by you” option in Zoho Sign

Dear Zoho Sign Team,

I have been trying to understand how the “Prefill by You” option works when sending out a contract for signature. My use case is quite simple: I need to sign a contract alongside my client. As I understand it, I have two ways to proceed:
  1. Option A: Add my client’s email as the only signer and, before sending out the document, prefill my own signature.
  2. Option B: Add both myself and my client’s email as signers, then sign the document normally without prefilling my own signature.
I have two key questions regarding this:
  1. What is the intended purpose of Option A when Option B seems to achieve the same result? Additionally, if the idea is to allow me to sign before my client, I can always achieve this by using the “Send in order” option with myself as the first recipient.
  2. Why does a prefilled signature (Option A) not appear on the completion certificate? This seems counterintuitive, as any legal challenge regarding the validity of the document would likely require the prefilled signature to have the same evidentiary strength as those collected via email authentication.
I would appreciate any insights you can provide on this.
