Concern Regarding Stock Validation in Inventory Management

Concern Regarding Stock Validation in Inventory Management

Hi Zoho Team,

We would like to highlight a concern regarding stock validation in the inventory system.

As per standard inventory management practices, if the stock level is zero, the system should not allow users to create a shipment, packing slip, or invoice.

However, currently:

  • The system allows invoice creation even when stock is unavailable.

  • After creating the invoice, it then shows that stock is not available.

  • Similarly, shipments can be processed even when there is no stock.

This behavior is confusing and does not align with basic inventory control principles. Ideally, stock availability should be validated at the time of creating the invoice or shipment, not after.

Could you please clarify if this is expected system behavior? If so, is there any way to enforce strict stock validation to prevent such actions when stock is zero?

Looking forward to your clarification.
