Creating Hosted Subscription Page with Trial via API

I am able to successfully create hosted subscription pages via API. However, when I add the parameter "trial_days" and set it to 30, it is not being respected when the hosted page is generated. Is there something else that needs to be set for trial_days to work properly when creating a subscription hosted page via API? Any other settings that I missed?
