Desktop sync does not appear to be true sync ?

Desktop sync does not appear to be true sync ?

Installed desktop zoho writer for linux, chose a Zoho folder in my Dropbox folder. Made sure files in online zoho writer were synced. The thing is, I look in my local PC zoho folder and I see the files but they are all just 160 bytes and seem to be nothing more than url links to the online Zoho writer docs. Is this normal? If so it is not really a true sync backup.
